Mobile Gamepad is a virtual gamepad for Windows. Play your favourite flash based games up to 2 players with 2 iPhone or iPod touch wirelessly connected to your PC running Windows XP or Vista.

Step 1

Get our app on iTunes App Store!

Step 2

Download, install and run the Windows client here:

Don't worry, it's safe, virus free and doesn't install strange DLL. It only requires the new Microsoft .NET framework and if you don't know what is it, it will assist you to download it.

The GamePad controller allow you to configure up to 2 gamepads. You can save and load configuration.

Step 3

In order to connect your iPhone or iPod touch with the Windows client you have to be sure that:

  1. Both your iPhone and your PC are on the same local network. It doesn't work over the cellular network
  2. Right now we only support a simple network discovery (eg. 192.168.1.x). In short words, if you don't have hundreds of PC on your network, it will works.
  3. The Windows client uses a TPC port to communicate with the iPhone. Your personal firewall could block it. Try disable your firewall or add an exception disabling filtering of the port 5050 (find more info at Microsoft Windows Support.

Step 4

Load some game in your browser and find out the keys you need to play it (usually the arrows for movements and some random action key). If you don't know where to find online games try here:

Step 5

Start both Gamepad client on your PC and Gamepad app on your iPhone.

Configure the client with the keys used in the game and press "START". The client will iconify in the traybar if you need to close it or change the keys.

On the iPhone select the gamepad type, and optionally choose if you are Player 1 or Player 2.

You are ready to go! Experiment, practice, and have fun!

2 Players mode

If your flash game allow it, you can play it up to 2 players simultaneously. Mobile Gamepad simulate the press of your keyboards so you don't really need to have 2 iPhones to challenge your friends, but of course it's far better with 2 iPhones :-)

In the Gamepad client configure the key layout for both players. Then, when you start the Mobile Gamepad, you just need to switch between player 1 or 2 before choosing the controller type. That's all!

Known Limits and Support

Mobile Gamepad is fun, especially if you play against a friend. But it's not perfect. For instance you can't play Half Life or Fifa '09 with it. We only support "in-browser game" like all the flash game you find on internet.

Network discovery right now it's a bit slow ... we will work on it in future release.
